The Warbington Chronicles: Riley Turns 8 with a Daddy Daughter BirthDATE!

Riley's birthday this year was a huge success, and it was all her idea! When I asked her how she wanted to celebrate, she said that she wanted a father daughter birthday. Well, I was stumped. I wasn't exactly sure how to pull this off, but as she and I began to talk about plans, we grew more and more excited. When the big day arrived, it was even better than we could have imagined. We called it a "Daddy Daughter BirthDATE". These little girls couldn't have been any prouder than they were to arrive on their daddy's arm. And, I have to give a shout out to all of the dads who made this such a special time for their little ladies.

When they first arrived, the men got crafty making wrist corsages for their girls.

Meanwhile, the girls were busy designing bowties for their dads to wear.

A Daddy Daughter Q & A (like the Newlywed Game)

"Dress Me Up Daddy"

Challenge: Dads have one minute to paint their daughters nails and put on their lipgloss

"My Daddy is full of hot air"

Challenge: Dads have one minute to blow up as many balloons as they can and daughters run and put them in the basket. The team with the most balloons wins.

"A Close Shave"

Challenge: Girls have 2 minutes to lather Daddy up and then shave him clean (with a popsicle stick) The girl who gets the most shaving cream up his nose wins - HA! Just Kidding. If this were the case, Chuck and Riley definitely came out on top. Look at Ellie's precision.

"Meet me in the Middle"

Challenge: Daddy and Daughter must see how many fruit loops they can string together before a minute is up.

"Just Puttin' Around"

Challenge: With Dad's help, each girl will see how many golf balls she can put in the hole in 1 minute.

The most entertaining of all - The Dance Off!!

Four lucky couples got the chance to go head to head in a dance off, compliments of the Wii and Just Dance. It was HILARIOUS!!!

After the games and presents, the Dad's and Daughters sat down to enjoy a special lunch together. Each of the Dads and Daughters and written a surprise letter to each other. These were waiting for them at the table. It was such a sweet sight to see the girls reading what their Dad's had written for them.
