A little history here is in order: It's 2006. We have had plans for several years now with our dear friends, the Jenkins, to take a cruise for our 10th anniversary. There is only one little problem, I am pregnant with our unexpected fourth child and will be past the "acceptable term limit" about halfway through the cruise. We are officially denied the right to even board the ship. No one wants me delivering a baby in the middle of Belize - especially me! The cruise is out and alternate plans are made to spend a wonderful, yet exhausting week in Washington, D.C.
Fast forward now to 2011. Our 15th anniversary is upon us. Bo and An have informed us that they are going on a cruise with our without us! Since there are no signs of Baby Girl Jenkins making an appearance (as Bowdie once prophesied), and we are most certainly in the clear - the cruise is Booked! William and Jessica decide to join us for some big fun on the party ship, and so on February 7th we all set sail to the sunny carribbean for an anniversary celeration aboard the Carnival Imagination. Sneak a peak at some of the highlights below.
Finally onboard and ready to set sail.
The view of Miami.
Okay, so within 45 minutes of being onboard we find ourselves touring the spa facilities. Definitely foreshadowing of the 5 days to follow. We got to know the spa staff really well.
Dinner that first night. Already finding lots of reasons to smile and laugh.
On a trolley tour of the island with our tour guide Ben.
Ernest Hemingway's home
Chuck was aghast at the roosters and chickens roaming about on the island.
Formal Night
We received an unexpected treat from the wait staff - dessert and singing in honor of our anniversaries.
"Let's get this show on the road."
a seal show . . .
I'm not exactly sure how he pulled it off, but Chuck managed to get about a 15 minute crash course in scuba diving (William and Jessica are already certified.) and permission to go along on the 1 1/2 hour dive.
