So, on the heels of completing Wesley's first football season, we received an invitation to return to Georgia Tech for a reunion weekend honoring the 20 year anniversary of the 1990 National Championship season and team. On Friday night, Chuck and I attended an evening event in which the teammates were able to reunite and catch up on each other's lives. It's always suprising, and sometimes quite encouraging, to see what path different individuals have chosen to take. A highlight of the evening was definitely hearing Coach Bobby Ross share a few words and being able to visit with he and his wife. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner afterwards with Chuck's roomate, Jay Martin, and his wife, Heather. The very best part of the weekend, however, was on Saturday when we returned with Wesley and Will for a pre-game breakfast and social time, a walk down Yellow Jacket alley for the players, a tour of the campus, and a special half-time recognition during the game. I'm not sure who it meant more to - Chuck or the boys.

The boys stare in amazement at their Dad's name on the National Championship plaque. They kept saying, "I can't believe your name is actually on there!" Kinda makes you wonder - Did they think we were pulling their leg all those year??

Chuck's roomate, Jay.
(A little smaller now than in 1990.)

Chuck's biggest fans.
(Speaking of big fans, would have been nice to have had one with us - We were directly in the sun and it was scorching!)

The players take the field.
(It's too bad some of them couldn't have suited up and gone in.
We could've used their help that day.)

#88 - Looking back at us and at an exciting and unforgettable year of his life.
